'The Lone Hand' Magazine: Four uniformly bound volumes containing all issues from 1907 to April 1910. The Lone Hand was founded in 1907 by J. F. Archibald and Frank Fox as a monthly Australian magazine of literature and poetry as a sister magazine to The Bulletin. Contributors included C.J. Dennis, Will Dyson, Henry Lawson, Norman, Percy & Lionel Lindsay, B.E. Minns, Blamire Young and many others. Based in Sydney it is, perhaps not surprising that the first edition featured an article illustrated by Lionel Lindsay, titled 'Sydney, The Cinderella of Cities' with the sub-title 'How a City, which has the most beautiful site in the whole world, is running the risk of remaining one of the ugliest, the most backward, and the most disease-stricken; while its commercial future is imperilled.' (4 vols.)
