1840 (Nov. 24) Remain Pass for Samuel Harris: issued by the Superintendent of Convicts at the Police Office Launceston, allowing Harris to travel from Launceston to George Town in the service of a Mr George Wilson, countersigned by the Constable of George Town on November 25th 1840. A physical description of the prisoner is provided on reverse: being 18 years old, of fresh complexion, a groom, who had arrived aboard the 'Recovery' (in October 1837), on a sentence of 7 years for an undisclosed crime.
