A rare and important Wedgwood trial piece sculpted by John Skeaping of an antelope buck and doe cane gloss glaze. Impressed mark - made in England and indistinctly (Wedgwood?). Minute chip to hind leg, length 21 cm a monochrome illustration of this appears in an early Wedgwood Museum publication with the caption stating it to be lost. Provenance: Richard green sold to Gary Langsford, auctioned in Australia and purchased by Rodney Robertson of Art & Industry Auckland, sold to John gray.
