1820 Royal horticultural Society Banksian medal, in silver, designed by William Wyon, commemorating the life of Sir Joseph Banks (1745-1820); Captain James Cook's most famous associate, the obverse showing a profile bust of Banks with birth and death dates; the reverse inscribed to a Messrs J.Hill and Son for Ferns on the 13th March 1900, diameter 38 mm x 3 mm thickness. Provenance: Hordern house, Sydney. Comes with original documentation with sale.
