George III 1797 cartwheel penny shaved nearly smooth on obverse and engraved 'No Dens/ July 8.1836/ T.Hautenville', the reverse with deep channel where it appears an item with an inscribed scroll has been struck, 'No Dens' possibly a reference to Nodens, a celtic diety, weight 25.57gm. Provenance: Nobles Numismatics, sale No.125, lot 322, November 2020, Ex Peter Lane collection note: featured in 'Convict love Tokens' by T.Millett 1998, page 101 and previously exhibited at the mint and Barracks Museum, National Museum of Australia, South Australian Museum and the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka in Ballarat, Victoria.
