A George II English sterling silver covered tankard of baluster form. Supported on an attractive circular raised foot base with a single reeded band to the lower body. Tapering sides flair to the top rim with a hinged domed cover having fine reed decoration to the base flange and the centre. An attractive cast loop thumb piece to the original hollow and tapered hinge with a good loop handle, terminating in a foliate shaped finial.
