A Chinese export silver ewer, maker's mark of Hung Chong & Co, Shanghai (1830-1925), circa 1880., the delightful ewer of baluster form on a circular spreading base, finely decorated with applied bird in flight over prunus blossom and flower sprays, further engraved with insects and bamboo, the scrolled handle modelled as a serpent, with maker's stamp to the underside.
