Description:
A large Khmer Angkor Vat style stone torso, 12th century the figure is carved standing in samabhanga on a rectangular base, his arms broken, wearing vertical striated sampot held together by a belt and with a single fish tail-shaped flange falling between his legs, naked upper body incised with a belly-button, torso: 61.5 cm high. Provenance: acquired from David Baker gallery, London in 8th May 2017, from a collectoin in Oxford fromed during 1970's (original receipt). Raymond and Victoria Tregaskis, Sydney, Australia. An important private collection, NSW.
