A mottled red jade Two-Tiers Cong, possibly Neolithic period, Liangzhu culture (circa 3,300-2,300 BC) the cong is of short cylindrical square section, each corner carved with a stylised human and animal mask design, the faces divided with a gently recessed vertical band in the centre of each side, the opaque stone of mottled red tone suffused with russet inclusions, 7.6 cm wide; 5.9 cm high.
