An unusual silver mounted elm goblet by Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson, London, 1793, reputedly made from a tree planted by John Milton in 1692, in the garden of Christ's College, Cambridge, finely engraved 'In the year 1793 this cup was made from a tree planted by Milton in the garden of Christ's College Cambridge in 1632' to the rim, further engraved to the foot 'One Sip of Will bathe the drooping spirits in delight, Milton', with an oval cartouche monogrammed 'Rc', 19 cm high
