Christian Liaigre (French), Bocca table lamp, designed c. 2010, patinated bronze, openwork, monogrammed 'Cl', with brown fabric shade, height 36 cm; 56 cm (with shade). Provenance: Christian Liaigre, Paris, France. Private collection, Sydney. Reference: in Rome, ancient fountains represent mouths throughout which water and truth flow. These same fountains inspired the design of the 'Bocca' lamp, which means mouth in Italian.
