An Italian walnut cassettone, 17th century, the moulded rectangular top above three long double panelled drawers with brass handles and escutcheons, flanked by carved uprights terminating in putto herms above a panel of zecchini, the moulded base with carved bracket feet, height 94 cm, width 99 cm, depth 40 cm. Other Notes: Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (the world's oldest or second oldest bank) label to interior of top drawer.
