German brass and bronze Columbus 'Bilateral' letter scale, German patent Oestp 1766, probably manufactured in Hamburg by Ph. J. Maul, made specifically for the English market as it is marked in ounces. Base, decorated with 'Scales' motif and 'Bilateral' both twice. Fine condition. 10 x 6.5 x 15 cm high
