A brass travelling letter scale by S. Mordon & Co. London, circa 1880. Contained in original red leatherette box inscribed 'Travelling letter Weigher' manufactured by W.&J. Miln, Edinburgh. The sliding bar showing weights and rates. Very rare. Provenance: Harmers of London August 1997. (a similar item sold by Spink 3 December 2006, sold for £480 plus 25% Buyer's premium P&P, however the travelling case did not have the postage stamp compartments). 16.5 x 4 x 5 cm high
