Description:
Silver plate stamp case, engraved with a vacant garter cartouche, the postage stamp compartment is concealed under the tight-fitting lid which has a strange 'Butterfly' spring clip which acts as a handle to get to the stamps and when the outer hinged front is closed, the clip opens out to keep the stamps secure. Unusual fine. Provenance: Claudlands Antiques, Hamilton. May 1996. 4 x 3 x 1.5 cm
