Description:
Rare Asprey sterling silver hallmarked stamp dispenser 1906, Lantz patent by William Hornby and retailed by Asprey. The base to hold multiple stamps, the top with a wetter compartment. Provenance: Spink blue eyes collection July 2009. 5.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm high other notes: similar in principle to the MacNeill's patent (see lot 7), the envelope is conveniently wetted from the cavity in the handle and the stamp is applied from the stack held in the base by depressing the sprung action handle.
