A French Louis XVI style mahogany sideboard, by Maison Gouffe, Paris, mid 20th century, the shaped marble top above four frieze drawers and panelled cabinet doors opening to glass shelves, on toupie feet, brass mounts throughout. Gouffe label inside one drawer, 101 cm high, 200 cm wide, 52 cm deep. Other Notes: Maison Gouffe was a well known Parisian cabinet maker in the 1930s and its Contemporary Furniture Department was directed by acclaimed furniture designer Jean Royere (from 1934 to 1942).
