A large Japanese Keyaki 'Ebisu Style' Jizai Kagi (kettle hook), Edo period (1603-1868), 18th/19th century, the J-shaped hanger carved from Zelkova and constructed with chamfered edges, pegs for suspension from the ceiling or roof beams, and wood patinated to a warm reddish brown colour, 46 cm high, 52 cm wide.
