M L Poum Malakoul (Thai-French, 1910-1973), village scene 1966, oil on canvas, village huts nestle beside a forest, with hills behind. Housed in a simple hardwood and giltwood frame, 57 cm high, 68 cm wide. With frame 68 cm high, 79 cm wide. Provenance: Purchased in Thailand, 1963-1968, Allan Henry Loomes OBE (1917-1990), and thence by descent. Allan Loomes was Australian Consul-General to Thailand (1949-1952) and Australian Ambassador to Burma (1958-1961), Thailand (1963-1968), south Korea (1968-1971), and Venezuela and Peru (1974-1978),
