A boxed R. Winkel brass entomology microscope (Karl Jordan), Rudolf Winkel (1827-1905), the German pre Zeiss binocular microscope no 11572, in a locking oak box with the complete set of Winkel objectives and eye pieces, was originally the property of German British entomologist Karl Jordan (1861-1959) when he was working with Lord W. Rothschild at the natural history Museum at Tring. Signed provenance documents enclosed including stamped microscope tag signed Kj, height 38 cm, width 20 cm depth 21 cm (case).
