A Baule mask, ivory coast, carved from a single piece of hardwood that as been highly polished and coated with a black patina. The mask depicts a female face with a large tri-part coiffure. The mask has thin slits for eyeholes and holes around the masks edges for securing. Scarification features at the lower cheeks of the face and remnants of white pigment can be seen at the eyes. Mounted on a wood stand. Height 43.5 cm, width 20 cm, depth 14 cm
