A Putorino flute carved by John Collins, carved from kauri wood and stained with a rich brown patina. The flute is made from two pieces of wood with a central aperture whole that depicts the mouth of a carved face. A carved face also feature at the top and bottom of the Putorino. The faces feature paua shell inlay eyes. Length 42.5 cm, width 7 cm, depth 3.3 cm
