A Iatmul mask, Sepik River, Papua New Guinea, carved from a hardwood. The mask has a elongated form with hooked beak inspired by hornbill birds. Cowrie shells depict the eyes of the mask. The mask is coloured with black pigment base and white pigments highlights that ave preserved excellently. At the peak of the mask is a small bird. Height 54 cm, width 11 cm, depth 10.5 cm
