A pair of Louis XVI 18th century Sevres green-ground 'Vases Hollandois', with hand-painted front panels within gilt cartouches of maidens in gardens, and to the reverse vignettes of musical instruments. Cipher and date code for 1767 to one, incised number 3, remnants of David Cooke Antiques labels. Height 19 cm. Intended for growing bulbs, hence the pierced separate stands which allowed for watering the growing plants. Considerable old repair to one. Provenance: The Nigel Harrod Estate Collection.
