A French Louis XVI period silver sugar bowl by Louis de Roussy Paris 1781 a covered sugar bowl (sucrier) in 950 silver. Neo classical openwork decorated with garlands, roses, laurels, and pearls. It rests on baluster feet with acanthus leaves. The cover is topped with wild strawberries. There is restoration to the cover. The cover bears the silver mark of a girl's head in profile with a Phrygian cap, the date letter S for 1781, and the maker's mark 'Ldr'. 13.6 x 17.2 x 9.5 cm
