Chinese pink silk Manchu lady's Informal robe, Changyi, late Qing Dynasty, embroidered in satin stitch and brightly coloured butterflies hovering over scattered orchid sprays, enclosed by a black silk border similarly worked with pairs of orchid plants alternating with butterflies, the sleeves with white ground bands en suite, length 139 cm and width 115 cm.
