Large Satsuma Meiji period centre piece, by Hododa, of scalloped fluted form, decorated with central roundel featuring figures in a garden holding fish and watering plants with interior scene in the distance, surrounded by reserves of figures and landscapes, alternating with dragon, mons, alternating with a fine ground of brocade work, butterflies and flower heads, in rich tones seal mark to base, height 13 cm, diameter 31 cm
