A Chinese Qing Dynasty lime-ground famille rose bowl (Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi mark), finely potted with the deep rounded sides rising from a short foot to a flared gilt rim, brightly enamelled around the exterior with four roundels each enclosing a character, forming the phrase 'Fo ri chang ming' (the light of Buddha shines eternally), divided by stylised lotus blossoms borne on meandering stems issuing further flowers, the base with a 6-character Qianlong mark in underglaze blue.
