Jules Pascin (1885-1930), Nathalie 1924, pencil, signed lower left, 25 x 20 cm. Bears Theo Waddington gallery (25 cork St., London) label verso. Born Julius Mordechai Pincas in Bulgaria, Pascin became a U.S. Citizen in 1920, living in Brooklyn. He returned to Paris shortly after, and on the eve of a prestigious solo show committed suicide by slitting his wrists and hanging himself.
