A pair of large mirror image famille rose covered vases, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, the vases of baluster form with twin lion mask and ring handles and domed lids surmounted by guardian lions. Each decorated in fencai enamels and gilding with shaped reserves to the front and back, one containing a scene of a historical battle, the other of a court scene, against a ground of scrolling fruits and flowers, each 63 cm high, 26 cm diameter.
