A Chinese famille rose porcelain Plaque-Inset table screen Hongxian mark, Republic period (1912-1949), very finely painted in fencai depicting a gathering under a tree, sealed to the lower left with two seal marks in iron red, one square Hongxian mark (1915-1916), the other a maker's mark, unread. Mounted in a beautiful dark lacquered hardwood table screen with low relief decoration of archaistic clouds, the plaque 38.5 cm high, 25.5 cm wide. The screen 65.5 cm high, 38 cm wide. Provenance: Oriental Treasures, Singapore, 2 December 1982, a private Toorak collection.
