A fine Japanese bronze koi vase by Kano Seiun (1871-?), Meiji period (1868-1912), circa 1910, the baluster form vase with very fine low relief work of a koi emerging from the depths of a pond beneath a wisteria branch. With oval cast seal 'Seiun' mark to base. Together with a later Japanese wooden box, 30.5 cm high, 16 cm diameter.
