Description:
A Chinese Wucai Transitional-Style vase, 19th/20th century, finely decorated with a landscape scene containing a boy on a buffalo and an equestrian figure, the base unglazed and without a foot rim, 24.5 cm high, 20 cm diameter. Provenance: Purchased in Thailand, 1949-1952 or 1963-1968, Allan Henry Loomes Obe (1917-1990), and thence by descent. Allan Loomes was Australian Consul-General to Thailand (1949-1952) and Australian Ambassador to Burma (1958-1961), Thailand (1963-1968), south Korea (1968-1971), and Venezuela and Peru (1974-1978).
