An early 1900s carved Black Forest bear hall/umbrella stand, the mother bear holding the tree trunk and with her cub perched on the top, oak leaf framed mirror to the centre, some evidence of old borer to the right hand side of the base, drip tray absent. (Together with a copy of 'Swiss Carvings, The Art of the Black Forest' which features this design in the chapter on hallstands.) 77 x 54 x 205 cm.
