A large and impressive Baye Pewhairangi Riddell floor pot, Baye Pewhairangi Riddell of ngati Porou and Te Whanua-a-Ruataupare was born in 1950, He began working in clay in Christchurch in 1974, He would use local clay dug from his families land as this 'Evokes a respect for the material and sense of connection with his Tipuna'.
