Warwick Armstrong's Cricket Bat From The 1909 Ashes Tour, full size 'A.G.Spalding & Bros - Hayward Record' Cricket Bat, endorsed at top right on reverse 'To John from W.W.Armstrong 26/6/09', and signed by the 1909 Australian team, with 16 signatures - Monty Noble, Warwick Armstrong, Bert Hopkins, Hanson Carter, Percy McAlister, Roger Hartigan, Victor Trumper, John O'Connor, Charles Macartney, Warren Bardsley, Bill Whitty, Frank Laver, Vernon Ransford, Albert Cotter, William Carkeek & Syd Gregory. Bat match-used with some wear & cracks to face (also two screw holes where it has been previously displayed). Together with card 'With this bat Warwick Armstrong playing for the Australians against the combined teams of Lancashire & Yorkshire, & against the bowling of George Hirst, Wilfred Rhodes & Walter Brearley, made 110 runs not out, at Old Trafford, June 26th 1909'. [Warwick Armstrong played 50 Tests 1901-21 including 10 as Australian captain. His team has since been regarded as one of the strongest in history. Australian Test Player No.80].
