World War I: Four-page handwritten letter headed 'Gallipoli August 26th 1915', written on paper taken from a Turkish Officer's dugout after capturing the position, together with typed transcript; contents include 'Our last big engagement was our charge on August 6th. My Company of the 3rd Bat had the honour of leading this charge' & 'I got through safely excepting for a few holes through my clothes and tobacco tin, and some splashes from a bomb'.
