1861 map 'Philips' Series of Travelling Maps/Victoria' (1st Ed., Nd circa 1861) by J. Bartholomew F.R.G.S, hardbound cover, coloured linen backed fold-out map (657 mm x 548 mm), #5 of nine Australian traveller maps by Philips', in Vey Fine condition. A very rare survivor. [An 1863 land survey of Gippsland reported to the Surveyor-General that 'the dimensions of Koo Wee Rup Swamp and Moe Swamp (or Great Swamp) are considerably reduced to those shown on old maps' (as they appear in this version), which dates this map to the 1861 first edition.
