A Rotherhams 18 carat gold hunter pocket watch, English, circa 1880, with a white enamel dial and supplementary seconds, key wind, key set with an English fusee movement and cuvet inner lid, engraved 'Presented to the Rvd. James Gibb on the occasion of his departure for Dunedin, New Zealand as a token of the affection and esteem in which he is held by the Presbyterian Congregation of Footscray, 15th December AD 1885', 5 cm diameter, note, the Rev. James Gibb (1857–1935) was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. After studying theology at Ormond College, Melbourne Rev. Gibb became part of the Presbyterian church of New Zealand and founded several schools in Wellington, New Zealand during the 20th century.
