Signed Jean Baptiste de Fournier 1798-1864. 18ct gold frame and pin with silver gilt mechanism, ten enamelled bees, supported by a well modelled Imperial eagle and surmounted by a five-pointed star. Total weight 35g. Brooch mounted for wear verso height 6.2 cm W4.7g. In fitted case. Provenance: Count Louis de Castelvecchio 1826-1869; thence by direct descent to current owner - private collection, ACT.
