A pair of late Qing Chinese ancestor portrait scroll paintings, of civil official and his wife. He sits upon a tiger skin draped chair with mandarin rank badge to his surcoat, over a blue robe with gilt embroidery. The matriarch wears an elaborate phoenix headdress, a green pleated skirt is visible below her red robe. Some restoration and faults. Images 145 x 88 cm
