Jacob Kjaer six mahogany dining chairs, each with square back with seven stick splats, the close-nailed cream leather seats on square sectioned legs with H-stretcher. Height 87, seat height 48 cm, width 49 cm, depth 46 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, Copenhagen, Thence by descent. Private Collection, Southern Highlands, acquired from the above 2017. Other Notes: Jacob Kjaer (Denmark, 1896-1957) was a furniture designer and cabinetmaker who exhibited internationally and furthered the reputation of the Danish furniture industry in the early 20th century. One of his most notable designs is the Fn chair designed for use at the United Nations building in New York city.
