A pair of 1920s American Saruk hand knotted wool on cotton rugs, the central medallion on a field of interlaced flowering branches, surrounded by a central band framed by two narrow guards. Ex. estate collection of a gentleman based in Iran 1940's as head accountant for Anglo-Iranian Oil (later BP Oil). His mother was sent to New Zealand at four, to attend school. Other family members were already in New Zealand. Both 202 x 133 cm. Some wear and small 2 cm hole to one.
