A 19th century French white alabaster mantel clock, the architectural case with restrained ormolu stars and female side masks. The Japy Freres & Co. movement striking on a bell. Height 36.8 cm. With pendulum and key. Note: Japy Freres was founded in 1806. Frederic Japy (1749-1812) was a pioneer in the 'art' of industrialisation and manufacturing. The reverse with old New Zealand antique dealer's label for Robin & Co. Wellington.
