Three Japanese studio pottery vases, by Tominaga Genroku (1859-1920), the first a high shouldered porcelain vase featuring leaves in sometsuke (underglaze blue) and overglaze flowers. The second a high shouldered porcelain vase with overall decoration of typical Chinese Sansui (Mountains & Waterfall) design in sometsuke. The third of baluster form with leaves in underglaze' (are they underglaze or over?) and flowers in bud. (all signed Genroku??) (3) further information: Tominaga Genroku worked in Takeo, not far from the traditional center for Japanese porcelain production in Arita. His accomplishments include attaining a position as head of the Protection of cultural Properties Commission, and winning third prize at the fifth National Industrial Exposition in 1903.
