A Chinese carved porcelain plaque, Republic period (1912-1949) or later, the large unglazed biscuit porcelain plaque with carved and applique decoration of a scholar with boy attendant with mountains and lake in the distance. Housed in a fitted wooden frame. Provenance: The Gwenneth Haines collection. The plaque 37 cm high, 25 cm wide. With frame 41.5 cm high, 29.5 cm wide.
