A Chinese jade-embellished gilt-bronze buckle, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, the two greyish-white jade plaques flecked with dark green, set into a gilt bronze two-part buckle, the hook modelled as a qilong head. Mounted onto a silk backed frame. Provenance: The Gwenneth Haines collection. 5.5 cm high, 15.5 cm wide. The frame 13 cm high, 19.5 cm wide.
