A platinum diamond, onyx and seed pearl sautoir, the circular plaque of pierced floral design millegrain-set throughout with old brilliant-cut diamonds further framed by seedpearls and diamonds, centring a carved onyx and diamond-set flowerhead, supporting two finely pierced cupolae motifs set with onyx and diamonds each suspending a seedpearl and onyx tassle, the whole suspended from a fine fancy link necklace set at intervals with seedpearls, the diamonds together weighing approximately 6.00 carats, pendant diameter approximately 52 mm, chain necklace approximately 485 mm., the 'Sautoir' or long necklace, usually of pearls or chain and ending in a tassle, was a favourite period piece of jewellery, particularly in the Edwardian era.
