A Japanese enamel planter with European gilt bronze mounts, Meiji period, 1900, the ovoid planter in white and turquoise colours with two shaped cartouches embellished with raised gilt insects amidst gold flora, with trailing cobalt and gold scrollwork, and housed in a Renaissance revival frame with a rope twist rim, cast scroll handles with maskheads and raised on a pierced lappet base with elaborate cabriole feet, height 29.5 cm, width 33 cm, diameter 22 cm
