A Siapo tapa, Samoa. Made from the inner bark of the u'a paper mulberry tree. A square shaped siapo decorated with brown and black dyes creating square panels with flora designs. The Siapo Tasina is a tapa that has been decorated with a pattern that has been carved into wood that is placed under the tapa and dyes have been rubbed over. Leaves are also used to create these patterns. Height 156 cm, width 153 cm
